Balingup Medieval Carnivale is held in the tiny town of Balingup over the 4th weekend of August. We're the largest and oldest medieval carnivale in Western Australia. And we are all about FIRE & FUN... but mostly FUN!
As a 'Not-For-Profit' organisation we fund our event mainly through gate takings and stall holder payments, and as our constitution states - any surpluses made will be used to benefit the people of Balingup and its surrounds.
We employ a small number of specialist positions on a part-time or temporary basis, but the vast majority of work is done by volunteers who do it for 'the love' of our town and her people. Our committee is always advised after the November AGM.
Volunteers are WELCOME! - Jobs range from props building (so much fun! - you can see our work all over town) to costume creation, art design, chopping down trees and site beautifications (we mean diggin, liftin, clearin and rakin),
kings, queens and royal court, entertainment organising to stage management. There is something for everybody!
If your interested in becoming a volunteer please get in touch with us
via the CONTACT page - You don't need to live in Balingup or have a
special skill but if you do - we'd love to utilise it.
We'd LOVE to hear from you!
As a volunteer we guarantee free costume hire and entry
to the carnivale. We feel the biggest reward is the enjoyment
of team-work and community, plus the huge sense of
achievement. Oh yes and the FUN!
